History

The Foothills Bank was the dream of Hank Schechert, the founder of the foothills neighborhood east of Yuma. The bank opened on November 3, 1997 in a temporary facility and moved into its permanent location on March 30, 1998.

The Foothills Bank was founded on the concept of “Banking with a Personal Touch”. While providing all the current products and services necessary for us to meet the needs of today’s technology savvy customer, we believe that friendly, personal service is the key to success.

As we move through the first quarter of 2012, our six full service branches and mortgage department are able to provide a full range of banking services to the communities we are a part of. From an original staff of 7, the bank has grown to 65 employees serving the needs of our customers in Yuma, Yavapai and Pinal Counties.

Currently the bank has over $285 million in assets, $253 million in deposits, $205 million in loans and in excess of $30 million in capital. The Foothills Bank continues to be one of the highest rated banks in Arizona.
